I don’t really know, but I think that in Europe it is very common. But how many kisses depends on the country. In my country we give three kisses on the cheeks, but other countries give one or two kisses :P Don’t really know about other continents though..
It’s a common way of greeting here in Italy, but even more so in France. It’s a form of courtesy. I don’t know about other countries.
Here the two people have to be at least acquaintances: it’s unusual to kiss someone on the cheek when you meet them for the first time, unless it’s a formal occasion (or if you’re relatives). It can be done when you meet or when you part with someone, or both. It’s usually two kisses… actually it’s not really a kiss but a sort of bumping cheekbones and making kissing sounds lol.
It doesn’t have gender specifications: a women and a man, or two men, or two women… no difference.

Yes, but you couldn’t see it. Eye contacts aren’t visible like that, or you’d notice them on people all the time (lol) For example, when I wear them and stand in front of the mirror, I can only see them if I get right up to the glass, like 1cm away. And even then, the border is faint, not sharp like the photo. Maybe he wears them, but you’ll never know by looking at a photo, so it’s no use trying :)

Yes, he wears eye contacts as I just reviewed all high quality photos and videos I had. But it’s a bit weird, he only wears eye contacts at 4CC.
I did try to see on HD pictures if he was wearing contact, but I just… can’t see it. Maybe it’s just me though.
They first saw him wearing glasses yesterday, so maybe he was told to wear non-prescription ones to protect his eye while it heals (it bled a lot, apparently). It wouldn’t be that uncommon, and he’s an athlete, so he has to be careful.
